What Makes You a Unique Real Estate Agent?Many people think that branding is just for celebrities such as Lady Gaga or big corporations like Coca-Cola. In truth, each and every one of us is a brand. Personal branding is how we market ourselves to our audience. It’s a critical part of the decision-making process that your clients go through when they’re trying to figure out whether to work with you.

As a real estate agent, YOU are ultimately the product, which means you need a BRAND. People don’t buy or sell property from a business; they buy from people, like you. With a crowded marketplace and lots of real estate agents for people to choose from, it makes it even that much more essential to let people know how you are different from all the other agents out there.

What makes you a well-known BRAND?

Identify what makes you unique. To rise above the competition, you need to have a clear idea of what you’re all about and what you have to offer your audience. It’s not enough to be known for just what you do because there are so many others with the same job title! Instead, take control and decide how you want to be branded. Spend some time reflecting on these questions:

Why do you work in real estate?

What are your passions and interests?

What kind of service do you provide?

Who do you serve?

What can your clients expect from you?

What do you want to be known for?

What do you have to offer that is tangibly better or cooler than other agents?

Once you have your answers, construct a mission or personal brand statement that communicates a clear and profound understanding of who are, what you stand for, and how you serve people. Now you have something to share with your audience.

    Dal, I completely agree with you. I’ve been writing similar topics myself. Branding is such a huge part of being a realtor and having professional photos of all their listings big or small helps establish part of that brand a big part actually. The more and more you present yourself as a professional that uses professional marketing techniques the stronger your brand becomes. It takes consistency to establish a brand that sellers will come to know. And all it takes is a small slip up to put you back into that average agent category.
